Meet Mumbles!
Today’s Featured Friday Pet is Mumbles!
Mumbles is a pretty appropriate name for low-key dude. If he could talk, we’d imagine he’d have Godfather-esque vibe going on, complete with a strict moral code of family loyalty. Mumbles is the current foster kitty at Wild Birds Unlimited, where it’s reported that he’s just a sweet, mellow fellow that mostly wants to sit in a lap or sunny window and watch the birds. At 10 years old, Mumbles is the perfect age for a cat. Fun fact: a 10 year old cat’s equivalent is a human in their mid-50’s. Like any mature but fun-loving active senior, Mumbles is ready for an early retirement but with plenty of energy for a second half of life adventure.
Mumbles was found as a stray, and the finder, who could not keep him permanently, had several other cats he co-existed with. Mumbles is FIV+, but we strongly recommend not letting that scare you. FIV+ cats can live long-healthy lives, and co-mingle with other friendly cats as it’s only spread through deep bite wounds. It simply means that Mumbles needs an indoor home where his exposure to disease is limited. We are happy to see the old stigma with FIV dying off, and more and more FIV+ cats finding a second chance!
Mumbles has been with us over two weeks, so you can spin our adoption fee wheel to find out what his discounted fee is! Anyone wanting a quiet, mellow and undemanding lap cat, please stop by Wild Birds Unlimited to see if he’s the guy for you!
