Parker’s beautiful Happy Tail!

Parker was a stray who was a regular fixture at the donation receiving area of our thrift store. One of our thrift store staff, Mike, took it upon himself to get Parker some much needed TLC by bringing him to our shelter. Here is Parker’s beautiful Happy Tail!

“We feel like our adoption of him was meant to be. We have been shopping at the Blue Ridge Thrift shop for a long time. I get their sale emails. The one that featured Parker jumped out to me. We had a dog, Sadie, who had cancer for about five years.

We had chosen holistic medicine and care for her since conventional surgery and medicine promised no help. She started to decline a few months ago. When I read about Parker my husband and I thought he may make a good companion for her. Her decline was rapid and we forgot about getting her a companion. We concentrated on making her comfortable. She passed away on November 16, 2016. We were blessed to be her family for 15 years. She is sorely missed.

Last weekend we needed to get away for a day. We drove to Flat Rock had breakfast and visited the thrift store. We decided to drive to the Humane Society and guess who was waiting for us there? “PARKER” We were surprised he hadn’t already been adopted. We fell in love with him. The description of him described him perfectly!!
